Throughout her journey, Heidi developed a close relationship with the Canadian Liver Foundation, She was able to connect with people who were waiting for a transplant, those living with and fighting cholangiocarcinoma, people who were post-transplant and recovering. She was honoured to be allowed into the journey of others, supporting them as she had been.
After her transplant, Heidi lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed every single moment with her family and friends. She was determined to find joy every day. She went out of her way to remain connected with friends and made special memories with her husband and kids.
Heidi passed away peacefully on December 9, 2021. Her family misses her every day but we are honoured to carry on her legacy. This year, we stroll for Heidi.
For the past 2 years, during the height of COVID, Heidi was determined to organize her own Liver Stroll to help continue the good work of the CLF. Family and Friends gathered at Surrey Bend Park to stroll, catch up and raise funds for the CLF. This year, we hope to do the same on June 25. We hope you will consider supporting our participation in this event. Any contribution helps, and all donations are tax deductible.
Last year, Heidi raised $3,000. To honour Heidi and the work of CLF, we'd like to have the same goal. Will you join us in honouring Heidi and her legacy?
**UPATE** We have reached our goal of $3,000 but would like to continue sharing Heidi's story. We have increased our goal to $10,000.
Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click the "Donate Now" button on this page.
If you would like to join the stroll, we will be meeting on June 25 at Surrey Bend Park. Please email email@example.com for more information (times, where to meet etc...).
